Tyre Rotation
Australia has some of the toughest and most abrasive road conditions anywhere in the world and, as motorists, we ask a lot of our tyres.
Not only do they have to cope with a multitude of surfaces and environmental conditions, but also individual driving characteristics and a host of different vehicle types.
For example, a front-wheel drive car will wear its tyres very differently from a rear-wheel drive.
Vehicles such as wagons and utilities because of the lack of weight over the rear wheelswill also wear at varying rates.
One of the best ways we can look after tyres is by rotating them regularly.
Swapping the rear tyres to the front and vice-versa ensures that tyres wear evenly and last significantly longer.
A tyre technician can tell you how often you should do this but as a guide, tyres should be rotated every Ten to Fifteen-thousand kilometres.
